University of Sarghodha has issued clarification letter No. UOS/Acad/95 dated 22-01-2015 in connection with Clarification Regarding the Degrees of BS/BSc (HONS) & MSc (HONS) Food Science & Technology /Food Science & Nutrition.
It is stated that some Universities of the Punjab are offering the courses of Food Science as major courses to the students enrolled in BSc (Hons) Agriculture degree programme and some Universities are offering separate degree programmes in Food Science & Technology /Nutrition.
The various degree holders of Food Science & Technology /Nutrition, the University of Sarghoda have approached to this office for issuance of confirmation letter in this regard.
Keeping in view above, this is to clarify that the University of Sarghoda has established the Institution of Food Science & Nutrition under the aegis of Faculty of Agriculture. Different degree programmes are being run with different nomenclatures at University College of Agriculture and Institution of Food Science & Technology /Nutrition are integral part of the Faculty of Agriculture and come under the same discipline. Thus, the degrees awarded in the discipline of Food Science & Technology /Nutrition may be considered at par with the degrees of BSc/MSc Agriculture for appointment/recruitment purpose.
