Government of the Punjab, Services & General Administration Department (Section Welfare-I) has issued Notification No. SOW-I(S&GAD)28-4/95(Association) dated 30-12-2014 in connection with Farewell Party & Issuance of Identity Card in Respect of Retiring Official.
The Competent Authority has desired the the following actions may be taken in respect of the retiring Government Officials serving in Punjab Civil Secretariat, Lahore in future:
- Farewell party may be arranged by the Respective Department.
- Appreciation letter may also be issued in recognition of meritorious services rendered by the retiring officials under signature of the Secretary of the Department concerned.
- A souvenir may also be awarded by the Department concerned.
- The concerned Department may issue the Identification Card after retirement, mentioning the fact that the official has served in the respective Department.

This is very good step taken by the government of Punjab and may lead to cerimonial retirement of public servants who have rendered 30 years service for the nation. Other provinces may follow the same.

I like this decision it is wonderful. for creative action of punjab govt. this action for honour for retiring employees of provincial govt .I hope others provinces will follow the same.
