Restoration of Pension Surrendered in Lieu of Commutation Sindh

Government of Sindh, Finance Department has issued Notification No. FD(SR-III)10/7-86(P) dated 07-09-2015 in connection with Restoration of Pension Surrendered in Lieu of Commutation/Gratuity.

According to this Notification, I am directed to state that according to para 16(e) of the Finance Department’s Notification No. FS(SR-I)1(51)/2001 dated 06-11-2001, the benefit of restoration of commuted portion of pension in lieu of gratuity/commutation was withdrawn.

Later on Finance Department vide its circular dated 28-08-2002 decided that benefit of restoration of commuted portion of pension shall continue to be available for those who have opted to remain in the basic pay scales 1994.

Now the Government of Sindh has been pleased to decide that all civil servants/civil pensioners of Govt of Sindh, who retired/would retired on or after 01-12-2001, shall be entitled to he benefit of restoration of commuted portion of pension in lieu of commutation/gratuity in accordance with the applicable rules.

The pensioners of Govt of Sindh, who retired between 01-07-2001 to 30-11-2001 and opted for pay scales 2001 on presumptive basis in term of para 18 of Finance Department’s O.M dated 06-11-2001 shall also be entitled to the benefit of restoration of commuted portion of pension in lieu of commutation/gratuity in accordance with the applicable rules.

    Madam my father was retired from Wapda on 15.5.1996 with having age 14.5.1939.Please confirm the time of restoration of pension. Thanks Muhammad Nadeem Jilani (son)

  2. my father was retired from KMC in 1992 in grade 14 scale. he was expired recently in August 2016.
    how can we get beneficial of pension to my mother?
    Can she still get benefit of this notification regarding commuted part of pension even after expiry of my father?
    how can we start the procedure?
    my father was paralyzed last 3 years he was not in situation to knowing latest update of this therefore he never learned and applied for that.

  3. my father has retired in 1978, when he was 45, he completed 25 years of his service, plz tell me he can avail benifit in respect of above notification?

    1. If he retired at the age of 45 years, he would have received commutation value 27.1990 years. So on expiry of 28 years, his commuted part was to be restored in 2006. Was application given for that benefit.

  4. My uncle retired in 1977 @ d age of 49 ys from police dept.&expird in 1993 now his wife is recieving family pension she can recieve comutation portion or not?
