Government of the Punjab, Finance Department has issued letter on 28-11-2018 in connection with Four Months Salary Payment to the Family of Civil Servants Who Dies While in Service. Detail is as under:

Will the Section Officer(B&E-II) Government of the Punjab, Finance Department. Kindly refer to his letter No.SO (B&E.II)3-2/2014, dated 02.10.2018, on the subject noted above?                                                                          The case has been examined. It is advised that policy regarding  grant of four month salary is meant only for the employees who  hold a civil servant post in connection with the affairs of the province but it dose not include a person on deputation, on contract work charge basis or paid from contingencies as defined para-2 of the policy letter No.FD.SR-I/3-/99, dated 01.07.2002 (copy enclosed)  Contract employees are not covered under the policy regarding grant of four month salary. Further necessary action may betaken in light of para-2 of the policy letter No.FD.SR-I/3-10/2004 dated 15.08.2007(copy enclosed)
