Government of the Punjab, Finance Department has issued Notification on 30-01-2019 in connection with Financial Assistant to the Family of a Civil Servant Who Dies While in Service. Detail is as under:
I am directed to refer to this Department’s circular letter of even No. dated 15.08.2018 and subsequent clarification issued on 12.08.2018 and 03.10.2018 on the subject cited above (copies enclosed) and further clarify the matter for the convenience and guidance for all concemed as under:-
SR# | ISSUES | CLARIFICATION |
1) | Will Educational Scholarship, Marriage Grant, GP Fund, income Tax, Benevolent Fund and PGHSF deductions be made from salary? | Education Scholarship and Marriage Grant shall continue whereas GP Fund shall be deducted at the option of the family. |
2) | Will Farewell Grant be paid on superannuation or at the time of death of a civil servant? | Farewell Grant shall be paid at the time of death or superannuation, which ever is earlier. |
3) | When Four Month’s Salary (pay last drawn plus allowances) be paid on superannuation or at the time of death of a civil servant | Four months’ Salary (pay last drawn plus allowances) shall be paid at the time of death. |
4) | When will lump sum payment of leave encashment equal to 365-days in terms of Rule-19 of Revised Leave Rules, 1981 be paid! | Lump sum payment of leave encashment equal to 365-days in term of Rule-19 pf Revised Leave Rules, 1981 shall be paid at time of death. |
5) | What criteria for salary payment be adopted to decreased official(s). | Post of OSD shall be created. |
