I am sharing the Maternity and Paternity Leave Act, 2018, which say there will be Senate Bill 6 Months Maternity Leave and 3 Months Paternity Leave for the Federal Government Employees. According to the news this bill has been passed on 27th January 2020 by the senate. As soon as I get the confirmation regarding this bill approval by senate I shall update the same here at the same post.
Senate Bill 6 Months Maternity Leave and 3 Months Paternity Leave Moved on 27-01-2020
It is confirm that this bill was included on 27-01-2020 (Monday) senate session. This bill was moved by Senator Quratulain Marri to provide for the facility of maternity and paternity leave to the employees of public and private establishments. Maternity Leave and Paternity Leave Act, 2018, as reported by the Standing Committee, be taken into consideration, at once.
What is Maternity and Paternity Leave Act, 2018?
The Maternity and Paternity Leave Act, 2018 is about to provide the facility of paternity leave for male employee and maternity leave for female for the Federal Government employees. According to this act, the male employee will be granted 3 month paternity leave. In the same way the department will grant the female employee 6 months paid maternity leave. The employee will also get an additional three months optional unpaid maternity leave and 1 month paternity leave, if required by the employee.
The employer cannot terminate the services of the servants for seeking maternity and paternity leave. If the employer does so, disciplinary action may be taken against the employer. It is also added that Ayesha Syed member NA had already moved a bill regarding 112 Days maternity leave instead of 90 days for female employees. The National Assembly did not passed that bill too.
Present Status of the Bill

What is to be done if a private company doesnt even allow the prior bill of three months paid leaves. Only one month is given paid.
