Government of the Punjab, Disaster Management Department /PDMA has issued Notification on 05-04-2020 in connection with Not Allowed Distribution Aid Food by Individuals and Organizations but through PDMA. The detail is as under:
Not Allowed Distribution Aid Food by Individuals and Organizations but through Permission of PDMA
And whereas, there are is an increase in the number of the suspect and positive cases of COVID-19 in the Province of Punjab as well as in Pakistan, which may have devastating effects on human lives, hence, it is mandatory to take all possible measures to contain further spread of COVID-19 on war footing:
Now, therefore, I, Babar Hayat Tarar, Relief Commissioner Punjab, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 4(2)(h) of the Punjab National Calamities (Prevention and Relief) Act, 1958 and section 21(2)(f) of the Punjab infectious Diseases (Prevention and Control) Ordinance 2020, hereby order that:
Philanthropic Activity Through PDMA
Philanthropic activity by any individual, organization or any other entity in the province of Punjab, shall be routed through Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PMDA), which shall Organize the same under standards and protocols set by the Government of the Punjab:
If any individual, organization or any other entity, who/which intends to undertake philanthropic activity on its own, shall submit an application to the Deputy Commissioner in whose Jurisdiction the philanthropic activity is proposed. The Deputy Commissioner shall determine the mode, mechanism, area and extent of the Philanthropic activity with appropriate checks for conformity with the Government guidelines regarding COVID-19, under intimation of the PDMA.
If any One Fails to Comply Orders
Any person who fails to comply with the aforesaid order shall be liable to criminal proceedings under Section 188 of the Pakistan National Calamities (Prevention and Relief)Act, 1958, read with section 188 of The Pakistan Penal Code. The offenses in violation of this order shall be cognizable and shall be tried in accordance with the procedure for Summary trials under Code for Criminal Procedure 1898.
This order shall remain in force in the entire province of Punjab with effect from 5th April, 2020 until further orders.
This order, they will give wide publicity through publication in the official gazette and dissemination through television, radio, other electronic news media and social media for information of the general public.
