Government of Gilgit-Baltistan, Gilgit Baltistan Civil Secretariat, Department of Education & Special Education has issued a Notification on 29-04-2021 in connection with Closing Gilgit-Baltistan Schools (Pre-School to Class 8^th). These orders are from 01-05-2021 to 17-05-2021. The details are as under:

Closing Gilgit-Baltistan Schools wef 1st May 2021

Giving due consideration to the increasing positivity rates of COVID-19 in Gilgit-Baltistan in general and educational institutions in particular and in order to contain further spread of COVID-19 among school-going children and teachers, the competent authority has decided to close all public and private educational institutions up to class 8 (Pre-school to eight) across Gilgit –Baltistan with effect from 01-05-2021 to 17-05-2021.

Summary of Holidays in Schools of GB

• The Government of GB by keeping in view the increasing situation of COVID-19 in the province announced holidays in schools.
• These Holidays are only from class pre-school to eight
• The main purpose of these holidays/closing of schools is to save the students and teachers from this disease.
• This Notification is for all private and Government schools in the province.
• The schools will remain closed with effect from 1^st May 2021 to 17^th May 2021.

It is to mention here that Federal Government has announced Eid-ul-Fitr Holidays 2021 wef 10th to 15th April. So the schools in GB will open after Edi-ul-Fitr 2021.
