As per the summary, the 25% Special Allowance Punjab on Initial of Revised Pay Scales 2017 instead of the running basic pay. If it is so then it will be a minor increase in salaries of the Punjab Government employees. The Federal Government granted Disparity Reduction Allowance 2021 on current basic pay. This is a summary and wait for the Notification of Special Allowance 2021 for Punjab Government Employees. That the Finance Department can issue within a couple of days or so.

The Ministerial Committee submitted various options in this regards to the Chief Minister, Punjab on 20.05.2021, who finally approved to grant a Special Allowances, 2021 @ 25% of Initial Basic Pay Scale, 2017 with effect from June 1st, 2021 for the employees in BS-1 to BS-19 who are drawing no additional allowance except usual pay and allowances vis-à-vis House Rent Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, Medical Allowance and Adhoc Relief Allowance 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 with the financial implication of Rs.2.460 Billion per Month (Annex-E).
The Chief Minister pleases that the instant matter should place before the provincial Cabinet for its consideration and approval (Annex-F).
Proposal in para 5/ante is placed before the Provincial Cabinet for its consideration and approval.

Islamabad High Court (IHC) on 18-06-2013 has made a decision to grant 20% Special Allowance to all the Federal Govt Employees. Earlier in March 2013, Finance Division announced 20% Special Allowance to the Employees of Secretariat and Ministries and Divisions and the Employees of Attached Departments, Semi Govt and Corporations were deprived of this allowance. This allowance will be granted wef 1st march 2013 (Read O.M. No. F.10(2)R-3/2012 dated: 6th Marh, 2013) as the Employees of Ministries & Divisions are availing the same since 1st March 2013.
