Budget Speech 2021-22 Sindh and Salary / Pension Increase

As per the Budget Speech 2021-22 Sindh, there is a reasonable increase in pay for the Sindh Govt Employees. The Sindh Govt announced the Budget on 15th June 2021. The pay/pension increase detail for the employees and pensioners of Sindh is as under:

The output of the Government is directly related to the performance of every individual employee. All the employees of the Government of Sindh have my gratitude. For next financial year, we are proposing an increase of 20% in the basic salary of all employees.
For the welfare of the labor class and in line with the increase in pay of government employees, the minimum wage rate is also being increased from Rs.17,500 to Rs.25,000 per month
In order to remove discrepancy and bridge the gap between gross salary and minimum wages i.e Rs.25, 000, a Personal Allowance is proposed for employees of the Government of Sindh in BPS-01 to BPS-05. The fixed rate of Personal Allowance will be as under

 

Personal Allowance

 

BPS-01 Rs.1900/- per month
BPS-02 Rs.1500/- per month

BPS-03 Rs.900/- per month
BPS-04 Rs.250/- per month
BPS-05 Rs.250/- per month

 

Moreover, a 10% increase in pension is also proposed for the next financial year 2021-22 for employees of the Government of Sindh

 

  • Adhoc Relief Allowance 2021 @ 20% for the employees. This allowance will be affected from 1st July 2021. The employees of Sindh province will get this allowance on the current running basic pay as per Revised Pay Scales 2017.
  • The minimum wage rates for the workers, the Sindh Govt fixed as Rs. 25,000/- per month.
  • No new tax, the Sindh Govt imposed

Comparison with Other Provincial Governments and Federal

 

If we look into the matter of the increase in salaries of Punjab and Federal Government, we that Federal Govt increased pay @ 10% on the running basic pay. Federal Govt has also granted DRA 2021 with effect from 1st March 2021. You can check the Chart of Salary Increase n Budget 2021-22 for guidance and information. This Disparity Reduction Allowance is on the current running basic pay as well as Adhoc Relief Allowance 2021 wef 1st July 2021.

Punjab Govt also announced 10% Adhoc Relief Allowance 2021 on the current running basic pay. However, Punjab Govt also favored the employees with a 25% Special Allowance. But this allowance is on the initial of the Basic Pay Scales 2017. Sindh Government excels in the case of Adhoc Relief Allowance that is 20% of the running basic pay.

Minimum wage rates Federal and Punjab Govt fixed Rs. 20,000/- per month while Sindh Govt announced 5,000/- more for the workers as compared to Federal and Punjab.

 

The Previous Year 2020-21 Budget Sindh

 

Let’s go to the previous year Budget, Punjab Govt did not increase any pay and pension during the last year 2020-21 Budget Punjab. Federal Govt also did the same. However, Sindh Government increased salaries as Adhoc Relief Allowance 2020 Sindh @ 10% and 5%. BPS-01 to BPS-16 employees got 10% Allowance while the employees of BPS-16 and above gt 5% Allowance.
