Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has issued a Notification on 13-12-2021 in connection with the Meeting Regarding Shifting of Winter Vacation to January 2022 and others. The details are as under:
Meeting Regarding Shifting of Winter Vacation to January 2022 and Vaccination
The 34th meeting of IPEMC is scheduled to be held under the Chairmanship of Federal Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training on Tuesday i.e. 14th December 2021 at 5:30 PM in the Committee Room of Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, Block – C Pak. Secretariat, Islamabad to deliberate on the following agenda:-
- Vaccination of Children between the age group of 12 to 18 and shifting of a winter vacation to January 2022.
- Enforcement of political map in provincial education set up.
- Any other agenda with the permission of the Chair.
- It is, therefore, requested to make it convenient to attend the subject meeting at the given date & time.
For the information of students and employees, Balochistan Government Education Department has already issued the Notification for Winter Vacation 2021 (long and short). There are chances that Balochistan province will re-schedule the winter vacations after this meeting. All provinces will also issue their own schedule for the winter holidays of 2021.
Earlier Before Meeting (14-12-2021)
There were two proposals for the winter holidays 2021-22 in the meeting. These were as under:
- One Proposal: Winter Holidays with effect from 20th December 2021 to 15th January 2022
- Second Proposal: Winter Holidays with effect from 25th December 2021 to 20th January 2022.
Final Decision Regarding Winter Holidays 2021-22
Just wait for the final decision. As soon as I get the updates of the meeting I’ll share it here for the information of employees. There is different news. One of the news is that the decision has been taken and the same will be disclosed on 15-12-2021. Let’s further wait for the output of the meeting. On 14-12-2021 Federal Education Minister Tweeted that Government has decided for the winter vacation 2021-22 wef 25th December 2021 to 4th January 2021. But later on, this is not still final and NCOC will finally decide the same on 15-12-2021. The latest news channel updates like Lahore News, Lahore Rung, Dunya News Channel, Geo News Channel, and some unconfirmed sources are that Government has postponed the winter holidays till the last week of January 2020. There are chances that the final decision will be starting of holidays wef the end of January 2022.
Lahore High Court Decision
On 17-12-2021, the Lahore High Court Lahore issued an order to close the educational institutions wef 23rd Dec 2021 to 4th Jan 2022. In this regard, the Government agreed to do so. The court ordered if Govt agrees then issue the Notification for holidays in schools/colleges.
NCOC Decision on 17-12-2021
NCOC has decided to observe winter holidays with effect from 3rd January 2021. In areas of extreme cold and smog, the local Governments will decide the holidays on their own. The delay of holidays means ensuring maximum vaccination of the students. Online 24 News Channel.
