Finance Division has issued a press release regarding Increase in Salary as Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA) 2022 @ 15% for Federal Government employees. The employees of the Federal Govt will get this DRA-2022 @ 15% of running basic pay with effect from 1^st March 2022.

Increase in Salary as Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA) 2022 @ 15%

                According to the press release, the Government of Pakistan has decided to grant a 15% Disparity Allowance on current or running basic pay for the employees of BPS-01 to BPS-19. The Government has recommended the same package for all province employees too.

Time Scale Promotion:

For the employees stuck in the same pay scale for long, the Government has initiated the process of time scale for the employees. The purpose of the same is to remove the hardships of the employees.

Upgradation of Posts

The employees one of the main demands was the up-gradation of posts. In this regard, the Finance Division will take action on the findings of the MS Wing of Establishment Division. The process will be complete by the end of April 2022. The employees will get up-gradation as per the pattern of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Merging of Adhoc Allowances

The utmost necessary demand of the employees was the merging of all Adhoc relief allowances into basic pay. The Finance Division is waiting for the report of pay and pension commission. The FD will merge the Adhoc relief allowances as per the agreement between employees and Govt.

The employees were protesting for a long for their rights in Islamabad. Their main demand was to increase pay & allowances in 2022 and upgradation, Time Scale promotion, merging the Adhoc allowances into basic pay. Now to some extent their demands feel to be fulfilled by the Government. If these demands of the employees the Govt fulfill soon their disparity will come to an end. Federal Government granted the previous year a Disparity Reduction Allowance @ 25% of Pay. That allowance Government also granted with effect from 1st March 2021. But due to an increase in the rates of the items in the market, Government once again granted this allowance but @ 15% of the current basic pay.

Summary for DRA-2022

According to the summary, the Disparity Reduction Allowance 2022 Govt will keep frozen with effect from 1^st March 2022 till further orders. Finance Division may also recommend to provincial governments to consider adopting the above package for disparity allowance. The provincial Governments will manage the same DRA from their own resources.
