Government of Pakistan, Cabinet Secretariat Cabinet Division issued a press release on 03-08-2022 in connection with Notification Public Holidays on 9^th and 10^th Moharram 1444 AH (2022). The details are as under:

In view of the above schedule of Ashura 2022 Holidays, the Federal Employees will get the following four days of consecutive holidays:

However, the provincial employees of Punjab will have three holidays. Khyber Pakhtunkhawa employees will also have four holidays on 2022 Moharram.  In continuation of Cabinet Division’s circular No. 10-01/2021-Min-II dated 17^th December 2021, it is for general information that the Prime Minister is pleased to declare 8^th to 9^th August 2022 (Monday & Tuesday) as public holidays on the occasion of Ashura (9^th & 10^th Moharram 1444 AH).

The press release may be published in all major English and Urdu Dailies at National and Regional levels and also be given publicity through electronic media.

Correction in Previous Notification

Federal Government has already issued the Notification of Optional and Public Holidays 2022 in Pakistan. In this schedule of holidays 2022, the Holidays of Moharram ul Haram 2022 are also included. There is some amendment in this Notification. In the previous Notification the expected dates of 9^th and 10^th Moharram were 7^th and 8^th Aug 2022 but now as per the moon sighting the 9^th and 10^th Moharram will happen on 8^th and 9^th Aug 2022.
