Government of the Punjab, Finance Department issued a Notification on 06-09-2022 in connection with 30% Social Security Benefit and Special Protocol Allowance on 2022 Pay Scales. The details are as under:
30% Social Security Benefit and Special Protocol Allowance on 2022 Pay Scales
I am directed to refer to letter No. TM-I/2-3A (iv)/2021-22/2992 dated 02-09-2022 on the subject noted above and to state that the case has been examined and it is clarified as under:

| 1 | 30% SSB in lieu of Pension of the contract employees. | Attention is drawn towards para-2 of the Finance Department’s letter dated 09-03-2016 (copy attached). Hence SSB will be admissible @ 30% of the minimum of Pay Scales 2022 with effect from 1st July 2022. |
| 2 | 50% Special Protocol Allowance | Special Protocol Allowance @ 50% of initial pay of relevant pay scales was granted vide letter of dated 25-05-2018. After the introduction of Revised Basic Pay Scales 2022, the said allowance will also be revised @ 50% of the initial basic pay of Pay Scales 2022 with effect from 1st July 2022. |
Revision on Rates of SSB and SPA 2022
Before this, the employees were getting SSB on the basis of Revised Pay Scales 2017. In the same way, the special protocol allowance, the employees were also getting on the initial of 2017 pay scales. Now after the revision of pay scales in 2022, the employees will get these allowances at new rates.
