Notification of Lifting of Ban on recruitment in Punjab

Government of the Punjab, Services & General Administration Department issued a Notification on 22-09-2022 in connection with the Lifting of Ban on recruitment in Punjab. The details are as under:

Lifting of Ban on recruitment in Punjab

I am directed to refer to the Chief Minister’s Office letter bearing  No. PS/PSCM/CMO/22/OT-47/0055992, dated 29.07.2022, whereby a complete ban on all recruitment in the Government of Punjab was imposed. However, recruitments to be made through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) were exempted from the ban.

 

Approval of Chief Minister Punjab

 

Now, the Chief Minister pleases to approve as under:-

 

 

i) The Recruitment to be made through the Punjab Service Commission (PPSC) will continue as before.

ii) The Standing Committee of the Cabinet on Finance & Development (SCCFD) will take up the cases of relaxation of the ban on recruitment on case to case basis for posts in BS-05 and above. However, the posts falling under the preview of PPSC will be exempted from this requirement.

iii) Relaxation of a ban on recruitment in BPS-01 to BPS-04 shall be considered by the Chief Minister on case to case basis.

iv) Recruitment against posts on development projects will be exempted from the ban.

v) There will be no ban on appointments/recruitment against statutory positions provided in the substantive laws, i.e. Acts/Ordinances.

 

Aforesaid instructions/ guidelines may be adhered to in letter and spirit.

Notification of Lifting of Ban on recruitment in Punjab

 

The unemployed persons will surely get benefit from this Notification. They have now the chance for Government jobs. Some of them would be overaged for Govt jobs as there was a ban on the recruitment process in Punjab. This letter created a ray of hope for them to get a Govt job for them.
