Many employees asked me about the Conveyance Charges for Late Sitting Admissibility for Government employees. A number of them asked that they work in the office even after working hours. Are they eligible for the Late Sitting Conveyance Allowance? If eligible how much they will get this allowance? Whether they will get CA for late sitting at the same rate during working days and holidays? Let’s discuss all these questions in detail keeping in view the Punjab Government.
Conveyance Charges for Late Sitting Admissibility
The main question is the eligibility of the Conveyance Charges for Late Sitting. The condition mentioned in Punjab Government rules is that the detainment of the employee in the office is beyond two hours of the usual closing hours. Certificate from the concerned officer not below the rank of Deputy Secretary or equivalent to the effect that detention of the official(s) was necessary for connection with official business, is necessary.
CC for Late Sitting for Gazetted or Non-Gazetted
According to Finance Department Punjab, the Conveyance Charges for late sitting is admissible to only non-gazetted employees. The employees having BPS-16 due to Selection Grade are also eligible for the same allowance.

Rate of CC for Late Sitting during Working Days and Holidays
The rates of Conveyance Charges for late sitting during working days and holidays are different. The details are rates are as under:

Federal Government Rates
The rates of the Federal Government are also the same as Punjab Government. Federal Government, Finance Division issued a Notification on 02-07-2018. During working days extra timing sitting rates are 225/- and on holidays 285/-. Previously the rates were 150/- and 190/- respectively.
