Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority issued a Notification on 30-12-2022 in connection with Revised Rates 2023 of WAPDA Rest Houses throughout the country Pakistan.

Revised Rates 2023 of WAPDA Rest Houses / Hostels in Pakistan

Water and Power Development Authority issues order for revision of rates for WAPDA Rest Houses/Hostels Throughout Pakistan.  The new room rents for WAPDA Rest Houses/ Hostels have been conveyed with immediate effects.

Amended Room Rates For Rest Houses

 The new rates shall be applied now. The revised rates are as follows:-

Allowance Officers on official duty

1.50 Daily Allowance per Day for all WAPDA/ Government Officers on official duty

For retired WAPDA officers

Rs. 2500 per day per room for retired WAPDA officers and their Families

Officers on leave

Rs. 2500 per day per room for WAPDA officers on leave and their families

For Private Visitors

Rs. 5000 per day per room for Private Visitors at Lahore & Islamabad

At Murree Nathiagali & Naraan

Rs. 5000 per day per room for all categories/Guests during the season (15^th March to 14^th October ) at Murree Nathiagali & Naraan

Revised Room Rates for WAPDA Hostels in Lahore

• 7500 for shared accommodation per month for WAPDA Hostels in Lahore.
• 12,500 for single accommodation per month for WAPDA Hostels in Lahore

Separate Meters:-

According to the order, separate meters for electricity shall be installed with each room in the hostel and occupant(s) as per actual consumption.

Why Public Avoides these Guest Houses?

The Public should use guest houses/rooms too as these are economical. But the main reason that the public makes to avoid booking such guest houses is the procedure. Another main reason is the unawareness of booking for the public.  If the Government makes the procedure simple and online booking starts, then the Government can earn a lot from these guest houses/ rooms. Punjab Government has already issued a Notification of the conversion of Govt Guest Houses into tourist resorts. Such type of steps will really help the Government to increase revenue.
