The Government of Sindh, College Education Department issued a Notification on 13-01-2023 in connection with Local Holiday on 14th January 2023 in Karachi and Hyderabad public and private educational institutions. The details are as under:
Public Holiday on 14th January 2023 in Karachi and Hyderabad
In view of the Local Government Elections Phase-II scheduled on 15th Jan 2023 in Karachi and Hyderabad divisions, Saturday 14th January 2023 is declared as a public holiday in all public and private educational institutions under the administrative control of the College Education Department, Government of Sindh across Karachi and Hyderabad Division.
Election Commissions Local body Elections Phase-II on 15-01-2023 (Sunday) and due to the staff being busy in polling stations /voting preparation, the colleges in two divisions of Sindh Karachi, and Hyderabad will remain closed.
It is added here that Special Education Department Punjab has issued a Notification on 12-01-2023 in connection with revised school timings 2023. Sindh Government College Education Department just issued a Notification for a general holiday on 14-01-2023. I have not yet issued the Notification of the School Education Department Sindh. As soon as I get the same, I shall upload it here for the information of teachers and students.
It is further added here as this is an election holiday and is not a scheduled holiday so it is not included in the Public and Optional Holidays 2023 list of Pakistan. For such types of holidays, the Government announces occasionally requirements bases.
