Government of the Punjab, Finance Department (Budget Wing) issued a Notification on 20-03-2023 in connection with the Allocation of Budget for Travelling Allowance and Daily Allowance on Official Visit Abroad.  Finance Department Punjab has allocated a new head of accounts for TA / DA. The details are as under:

I am directed to refer to Finance Division’s letter No. 1(1)-AO (BC)/2022-23 dated 02-03-2023 received from Director (Budget Computerization) on the subject noted above and to reproduce here the following heads of accounts regarding TA/DA on an official visit abroad opened in the chart of accounts by the office of Controller General of Accounts, for information, please.

It is requested that funds regarding expenditure on an official visit abroad may be allocated under the above head of accounts while preparation of the budget for the NFY 2023-24.

What is TA/DA and When Does Employee Get it?

TA/DA is the expenses occurred by the Government employees on his/her travelling on official duty or retirement or joining a new post charge.  These expenses are for the Daily expenditure of the employees and the cost of the travelling expenses.  The retiring employee is not eligible for Daily Allowance. He will get only TA, luggage charges and one basic pay as per the rules on retirement.
