Notification Admissibility Special Allowance 2022 to the Employees of Autonomous Bodies i.e Universities

Government of the Punjab, Higher Education Department issued on 04-04-2023 in connection with Admissibility Special Allowance 2022 to the Employees of Autonomous Bodies i.e Universities. The details are as under:

 

Admissibility Special Allowance 2022 to the Employees of Universities

 

I direct to refer to the subject cited above and to state that a piece of advice regarding the admissibility of special allowance-2022 to the employees of autonomous bodies i. e University received from Govt. of Punjab, Finance Department, vide letter No. SO(C)Misc-1/21(Temp), dated 08.03.2023 (copy enclosed). In this clarification, the FD Puanjab clarifies that “in the instant case, the Jamiaat are autonomous Bodies under the administrative control of Higher Education Department. The employees of Universities are not civil servants; hence they are not entitled to grant a 15% special Allowance as per the letter of Finance Department, Govt. of Punjab bearing No. FD.SR.V.3-1/2021, dated 20.07.2022”.

 

Admissibility Special Allowance 2022 to the Employees of Autonomous Bodies i.e Universities

 

Keeping in view the above clarification, the Universities employees will not get the Special Allowance 2023 that the Punjab Government employees are getting. University employees are not civil servants so they are not eligible for the SA-2022.

 

 

15% SA 2022 Punjab

 

The Punjab Government employees are getting SA-2022 @ 15% of the running basic pay with effect from 1st March 2022. In the same way, the Punjab government issued a Notification for granting the Special Allowance @ 15% on running basic pay for Pujab civil servants BPS-01 to BPS-22.

The higher Education Department shall not provide Special Allowance to the employees of Autonomous bodies. The Higher Education Commission informs the Vice Chancellors about the reception of Special Allowances for the employees. So, the employees who are not civil servants shall not get Special Allowance. The employees of Universities shall not get a 15% of Special Allowance. The employees of Universities and Autonomous Bodies under, the Higher Education Department, Government of Punjab are not eligible for this allowance.
