Government of the Punjab, Finance Department issued a Notification on 08-08-2023  in connection with 35% Adhoc Relief Allowance 2023 Punjab Government Employees. The Punjab Government employees will get ARA-2023 @ 35% and 30% on running basic pay. The details are as under:

Hike in Punjab Salary as 35% Adhoc Relief Allowance 2023 Punjab Government Employees

Like other provinces of Pakistan Punjab also present its budget for the fiscal year 2023-2024 in the month of June. With the other budgetary allocation, the Punjab Govt increased the Adhoc Relief Allowance of government employees @ 30% of initial basic pay. The government approves this allowance on the initial base pay of government employees.

As Punjab Government increases the ARA Allowance and pension less than other provinces. Government employees show their alliance and make requests to CM Punjab to increase ARA according to other provinces.

Comparing ARA of All Provinces Increase before Approval

Previously all provincial governments including Balochistan, KPK, and Sindh announced a 35% increase for BPS-01 to BPS-16 and a 30% increase for BPS-17 to BPS-22 and above. This increase is provided for running basic pay. They also agree to increase 17.5% increase in Pension.

But, in comparison Punjab Government notified a 30% increase in initial basic pay. Punjab government increase only 5% in pension.

Equal Increase in ARA All Provinces

All government employees working in public departments raise their voices and make requests to CM Punjab. They requested to increase Adhoc Relief Allowance just like other provinces as 35% on running basic pay.  They also requested to increase pension to 17.5% just like Federal Government.

Prime Minister heard their request and CM called a cabinet Meeting to discuss this agenda in the meeting. With suggestions and discussion about financial issues related to the inflation rate CM Punjab gives approval of a same equal increase in ARA as a 35% and 17.5% increase in pension.

I had already shared the updates of ARA 2023 35% Punjab Government employees just after the cabinet approved it. The employees were then waiting for the Notification of ARA 2023 that the Finance Department issued today.

The government of Pakistan proves that there is no discrimination against government employees working in the province. All provinces want to give relief to the employees equally. On the order, the finance department agrees to pay 35% ARA on running basic pay. Pensioners will get a 17.5% increase in pension.

All government employees can enjoy this increase on a monthly basis from 1^st, July 2023. The increase is according to running the Basic Pay Stages of all employees.
