As far as previous practice there are still no confirmed Salary Increase News Budget 2024-25 for Government employees. A couple of weeks ago there was news about no increase in pay and allowances. In the same way, a couple of days ago there was a news of 15% increase in salary and a 10% raise in pension. However, all these are just news. There are still no confirmed updates from any official of the Government.
Salary Increase News Budget 2024-25 Govt Employees and Pensioners
As per the latest news, The Federal Government is considering enhancing the salaries of Government employees in the Federal Budget 2024-2025 in June 2024. The Government has already issued the tentative date of announcement of Budget 2024-25 Pakistan in June 2024. The Government of Pakistan will increase the salaries of civil servants keeping in view the financial and economic conditions the Government facing.
The new Government which just took over the charge a couple of months ago, is considering raising the salary and pension of the Government employees and pensioners due to inflation in the country. Nearly every year Governments increased the salary of Government employees except in 2019. However, in 2019 only the Sindh Government increased the pay and pension.
As per details, the FBR will start preparing the budget for the financial year 2024-25 from the first week of May 2024. Prime Minister Mr. Shahbaz Sharif constituted an 11-member ministerial committee headed by Finance Minister Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb to consider the budget proposals for the financial year 2024-25. According to sources, to reduce inflation, the government aims to bring it down to the target of 5 % to 7% by September 2025. Federal Board of Revenue’s revenue collection target for the Financial Year 2024-25 is likely to be set at Rs. .952 trillion.
Expected increase in salaries and pensions of government employees
The government is expected to announce a 10% increase in the salaries of employees in the upcoming budget year 2024-2025. However, the government will take the final decision after considering the proposals of the finance ministry. If the Finance Ministry approves the proposal the Government will increase the salary taking effect from 1st July 2024.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s Statement on 01-05-2024
The Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr Shahbaz Sharif in a conference said that he knows that the common person is facing issues due to dearness in the country.KSA is investing more in the country. The government will surely increase the salary of employees even if they have financial issues.
Bilawal Bhutto Statement on 1st May 2024
Bilawal Bhuto Zardari also gave statement on 1st May 2024, that Federal Gornent should increase the salaries of the employees keeping in view the dearness. The Sindh Government will also increase the salaries of the employees of the province.
Govt Employees Demands /Issues
The employees want the following in the coming budget 2024-2024:
- Increase in House Rent Allowance (HRA)
- Increase in pension
- Minimum 50% increase in salary
- Increase in Medical Allowance
- Up-gradation of the posts
- Regularization of the employees
