Government of the Punjab, School Education Department issued a Notification on 08-05-2024 in connection with Absence from Duty Without Sanctioning LPR and other kinds of leaves. The details are as follows:
Absence from Duty Without Sanctioning LPR
I am directed to refer to the subject cited above, and to state that it has come to the notice of the Competent Authority that the employees of the School Education Department apply for Leave Preparatory to Retirement (L.P.R.) under Rule 17(7) of Revised Leave Rules, 198 and stop attending their duties/school which is willful absence from duty. The same amounts of misconduct and inefficiency as laid down in the PEEDA Act, 2006.
I am therefore, directed to convey to the Competent Authority / Secretary that the School Education Department has desired that the employees who apply for leave including L.P.R. shall not leave the duly station / current place of posting without the approval of the same by the Competent Authority.
The above instructions shall be implemented in true letter and spirit.

Sir! I want to know if a employee apply for retirement after 25 years of service and 55 years of age before 3 months from the date of which he want to retire from Govt. Service.
1. Will he be eligible for Leave Encashment??
2. The application for LPR is for those employees who are retiring from Govt. Service on attaining the age of superannuation. What will the procedure to get Leave Encashment for employees who are retiring before superannuation??
Leave Encashment is admissible on minimum 30 years regular service or 60 years age.
