Government of the Punjab, School Education Department issued a Notification on 13-06-2024 in connection with Summer Camps 2024 in Public and Private Schools Punjab. The summer camps will held in morning and evening shifts. The details are as follows:

Summer Camps 2024 in Public and Private Schools Punjab

No. SO(A-I)1-31/2022:  In continuation of this Department’s notification of even number date 17-05-2024, the Competent Authority has been pleased to allow the establishment of summer camps in Public & Private Schools for curricular & Non-curricular / sports activities during summer vacation form 20^th June 2024 on the following terms and conditions.

Conditions for Summer Camps in Punjab Schools for 2024

1. The summer camps shall be allowed for all classes.
2. The summer caps can only be geld during 7:00 am to 10:00 am and 4:00 m to 7:00Pm.
3. The school administration shall ensure that all actives / classes are conducted in classrooms / indoor.
4. Participation in the summer caps shall not be mandatory for students. The consist of parents shall be required for registration of student(s) for participation in summer caps.
5. The school administration shall ensure availability of basic essential amendities e.g. cleanliness, clean & cold drinking water, fans, siting arrangement, electricity back-up in case of load shedding etc.
6. The school administration shall ensure the participants of summer caps bring health and fresh eatables.
7. The school administration shall ensure availability of firs aid box with sufficient necessary supplies.
8. All participants in summer caps shall be exempted from uniforms. However, the school administration shall ensure wearing of light color, loose-fitting clothing and hats / caps for students to protect them form sunshine.
9. Imparting of 21th century skills, such as IT, robotics, AL etc., as well as coaching of various sports shall be preferred from the stated summer caps.
10. The head of public schools is also encouraged to establish coaching camps for hockey, football, volleyball, or any other sports, as deemed appropriate on the above lines by deploying Physical Education Teachers (PETs) or any other interested teacher on a voluntary basis, or by using staff from the District Sports Office.

As per the above instructions, the summer camps in Punjab will start just after Eid-ul-Azha Holidays 2024 onwards. The school heads will ensure the above instructions.

Instructions for HOIs

The Chief Executive Officers (DEAs) and Head of private institutions are directed to ensure compliance of above cited terms and conditions for establishment of summer camps in true letter and spirit.

The above regime shall remain in place for a period of 30 days at the end of which it would be reviewed for further course of action.
