Government of Pakistan, Finance Division issued a Notification on 10-07-2024in connection with Adhoc Relief Allowance 2024 Federal Govt employees. The Federal Government employees will get the ARA-2024 with effect from 1st July 2024. They will get the Adhoc Allowance 2024 @ 20% to 25%. The details are as follows:
Adhoc Relief Allowance 2024 Federal Govt employees
As per the Finance Division OM, the BPS-01 to BPS-16 employees got more increase as compared to the BPS-17 and above employees. In July 2023, The Federal Government granted Adhoc Relief Allowance 2023 @ 35% and 30% Federal of their current basic pay. The Federal Govt employees will get the ARA-2024 at the following rates:
BPS-01 to BPS-16 Employees = 25% of running basic pay
BPS-17 to BPS-22 employees = 20@ of running basic pay
Contents of Notification
The President has been pleased to sanction with effect from 1st July 2024 and till further orders an Adhoc Relief Allowance 2024 to all Federal Government employees. These employees include the following:
- Civil Employees
- Armed Forces Personals
- Civil Armed Forces
- Civilians Paid from Defence Estimates including
- Contingent Paid Staff
- Contract Employees against Civil Posts in BPS on Standard Terms and Conditions
The Term Basic Pay means for the purpose of ARA 2024 also includes the personal pay (PP) that the employees got beyond the last pay stage of their respective pay scales. It means that the employees will get the ARA-2024 on running/current basic pay.
The running basic pay is based on the Revised Pay Scales 2022. You can also say running basic pay as current basic pay. The employees are nowadays getting their salary on the basis of Basic Pay Scales 2022.
This ARA-2024 is subject to Income Tax. It means they will have to pay tax on this increase too as per the previous routine. The Federal Government has now issued the Notification of Adhoc Relief Allowance 2024 with a reasonable increase in salary. But the employees will also have to make a deduction of their income tax as per the Revised Income Tax Rates 2024 for Government employees (salaried persons).
Frozen or Not Frozen?
If we look at the above contents of the Notification, the Federal Government did not freeze the Adhoc Relief Allowance 2024. So the employees will get an increase in their ARA-2024 when they will get the Annual Increment 2024.
