Punjab Government has announced the distribution of Solar Scheme up to 500 Units Users on the eve of 14th August 2024 on the day of Independence. The electricity consumers up to 200 units will get the solar panels on 14th August 2024. The consumers of 200 units to 500 units will get the solar panels on the payment of 10% amount of the total cost. The details are as follows:

Freedom from expensive electricity bills on Independent Day Chief Ministry Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s decision to start distribution of solar panels from Independent Day.
People using up to 200 units will be able to get free solar panels from August 14. People using more than 200 and up to 500 units will get 10 percent panel will meet on payment of compensation.
The Punjab Government will pay 90 percent of the amount of solar panel supply to the people consuming up to 500 units of electricity, This amount is interest-free for five years.
The supply of solar panels will be through banks.
The Punjab government has decided all the details of the solar panels supply scheme.
Payment of Solar Panels
10% payment of the solar panels will pay the consumer of 200 units to 500 units. For the remaining 90% payment of the solar panels, the Government of Punjab will pay through banks. The payment for solar panels is interest-free.
Benefits of Free and 10% Payment Solar Panels in Punjab
If the Punjab government provides solar panels to low-electricity consumers it will have a great effect on their lives. The low electricity users are unable to pay the huge amount bills of the electricity. Consumers using up to 200 units are paying nowadays more than Rs.5000/- per month. Consumers using from 200 electricity units to 500 units are paying even more than 40,000/- 50,000/- per month. If they get solar systems then they may reduce their electricity bills amount nearly half or even more depending on their usage.
