The Punjab Government has started Online Registration to get Free Google Certificates for Teachers in Punjab. The teachers can get their registration online through a specific link or QR CODE. The School Education Department (SED) Punjab aims to train 1000 school teachers as Master Trainers and 50,000 students for the Google Certification.

Why is certification important for teachers? Digital Journey launched in partnership with Google for Education! We want our teachers to have Google certification to grow professionally, and improve their skills. The Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat invites teachers of Punjab for Google Certification. This certificate has the following benefits:

On 22nd June 2024, the Education Minister Punjab visited the Google for Education Center of Excellence at ICG F6/2, Islamabad, with my team, Tech Valley Pakistan, and the Allied Team. The team heard an inspiring student story about how Google for Education and Chromebooks transformed her learning. The Principal highlighted the school’s incredible journey, made possible by the Federal Ministry of FE&PT. This visit showcased the powerful impact of technology in education and its future growth potential.

 

On May 22, 2024, the Education Minister Punjab visited the Google Office in London.: An important and positive meeting was held with the Google for Education (GOOGLE) team. Going to partner with Google to make the children skilled and empowered, Inshallah!

 

Phase I Registration

 

In the first phase, the teachers of Layyah, Bhakkar, Kasur, and Lahore can register themselves for Google certificates.

 

School Education Department (SED) Punjab, Tech Valley, and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), have joined hands and launched the Digital Safar Training program in public schools of Lahore, Punjab. This initiative inaugurated by the Honorable Minister for School Education Department Punjab, aims to empower the province’s youth with essential digital skills through trained teachers. The program includes the following::

 

• Google’s “Be Internet Awesome,” educates students on cyberbullying, online security, and digital citizenship through interactive activities.
• “Google CS First” introduces students to coding, enhancing their creativity, problem-solving, and computational thinking skills.

 

Fostering Responsible Digital Citizens

 

Tech Valley, in partnership with Google and Jazz, developed the Digital Safar program for kids aged 9-14. This initiative aims to foster a generation of responsible digital citizens who can safely navigate the online world and leverage technology positively.

 

 

 

Basic Coding Skills for Children

 

Google’s “CS First” program introduces coding fundamentals to children, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and computational thinking. Activities allow students to pursue passions through code, whether in storytelling, art, music, or other interests. This program promotes cognitive development and prepares children for future learning.

 

Navigating the Internet Safely

 

Google’s “Be Internet Awesome” helps students navigate the internet safely through gamified learning and educational resources. It covers responsible online behavior, including cyberbullying, online security, and digital citizenship. The program focuses on five key principles: Think Before You Share, share with Care, Be Respectful, Be Aware, Protect Your Stuff, and Talk It Out.
