Notification Omitting Rule 17-A from Appointment Rules Punjab

Government of the Punjab Services and General Administration Department (Regulations Wing) issued a Notification on 24-07-2024 in connection with Omitting Rule 17-A from Appointment Rules Punjab. The details are as follows:

 

Omitting Rule 17-A from Appointment Rules Punjab

 

No.SOR-III(S&GAD)2-60/2024. In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 23 of the Punjab Civil Servants Act, 1974 (VIII of 1974), the Governor of the Punjab is pleased to make the following amendment to the Punjab Civil Servants (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 1974, with immediate effect:-

 

Amendment

 

In the Punjab Civil Servants (Appointment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 1974, Rule 17-A shall be omitted.

  1. The Senior Member, Board of Revenue Punjab, Lahore.
  2. The Chairman, Planning & Development Board, Lahore.
  3. Principal Secretary to Governor, Punjab.
  4. The Secretary to Chief Minister, Punjab.
  5. All the Administrative Secretaries In the Punjab.
  6. Provincial Police Officer, Punjab.
  7. The Chairman, CMIT, Lahore.
  8. All Divisional Commissioners in the Punjab.
  9. All Deputy Commissioners in the Punjab.
  10. The Secretary Provincial Assembly, Punjab.
  11. All Heads of attached Departments in the Punjab.
  12. The Secretary, Punjab Public Service Commission, Lahore.
  13. Secretary Ombudsman, Punjab, Lahore.
  14. The Secretary Ombudsperson, Punjab, Lahore.
  15. All Additional Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries & Section Officers in the S&GAD.
  16. The Accountant General, Punjab, Lahore.
  17. All District Accounts Officers in the Punjab.
  18. The Registrar, Punjab Service Tribunal, Lahore.

Notification Omitting Rule 17-A from Appointment Rules Punjab

 

Explanation of the Notification

 

As per the above Notification, the Punjab Government has omitted Rule-17-A from the recruitment rules in Punjab. In this rule after the death of the serving Government employee, the department granted a job to the son, daughter, or widow of the deceased employee. Now as per the above letter, the son, daughter, or widow of the deceased Government employee will not get the jobs. In the same, the employees who retired on a medical basis will also not avail of this facility job.
