Notification Bill KP Police (Amendment) Act 2024 (Change in Quota) has been issued. In this regard, a Bill on the subject matter has been signed showing the quota and changes in the same. The details are as follows:
Bill KP Police (Amendment) Act 2024 (Change in Quota)
Bill further to amend the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Act, of 2017.
Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Act, 2017 (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Act No. II of 2017), for the purposes hereinafter appearing:
It is hereby enacted by the Provincial Assembly of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as follows:
Short title and commencement,—(1) This act may be called the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police (Amendment) Act, 2024.
It shall come into at once.
Amendment of section 32 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Act No. II of 2017,– In the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Act, 2017 (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Act No. II of 2017), in section 32, for sub-section (1), the following shall be substituted, namely:
“(I) The post of the Assistant Sub-Inspector shall be filled in the prescribed manner, as per the following quota:
Amended Quota
Fifty percent (50%) from amongst the Head Constables, on the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee;
Twenty-five percent (25%) from amongst the Graduate Constables or head Constables by selection on merit, subject to competitive examination, on the recommendations of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission;
Twelve and a half percent (12.5%) by initial recruitment, through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission; and
Twelve and a half (12.5%) by initial recruitment, from amongst the wards of Shudha of police, on the basis of seniority to be determined with effect from the date of the martyrdom and their eligibility:
Provided that seats, remaining vacant from the quota reserved for wards of Shuhda Police under this clause, shall be shifted towards the quota reserved for appointment of Assistant Sub Inspectors by initial recruitment under Clause (c)”.
