Government of the Punjab issued the Revised Notification Adhoc Relief Allowance 2024 Punjab on 05-08-2024 for the Punjab Government Employees of BPS-01 to BPS-22. They will get the ARA-2024 @ 20% and 25% with effect from 1^st July 2024. Before this Punjab Govt Finance Department issued a Notification of ARA-2024 on 22 July 2024. Now FD Punjab made amendments to it. The details are as follows:

Revised Notification Adhoc Relief Allowance 2024 Punjab

I am directed to state that the Governor of Punjab has been pleased to sanction an Ad-hoc Relief Allowance-2024 worth effect from 1^st Duly, 2024 and till further orders to all the Civil Servants of the Punjab Government and contract employees employed against civil posts in Basic Pay Scales on standard terms & Conditions of contract appointment as under:

1. BS-1 to BS-16 25% of Running Basic Pay
2. BS-17 to BS-22 20% of Running Basic Pay

Conditions for ARA-2024 Punjab

2. The Adhoc Relief Allowance – 2024 will be admissible subject to the following conditions:

1. Be admissible during leave and the entire period of LPR except during extraordinary leave (without pay).
2. Not be treated as part of emplacements for calculation of pension/gratuity and recovery of House Rent.
3. Not be admissible to the civil servants during the tenure of their position/deputation abroad.
4. Be admissible to the civil servants on the repatriation form posting. Deputation abroad at the date and amount would have been admissible to them had they not been posted abroad.
5. Be subject to income Tax.

Basic Pay Clariication

3. The term “ Basic Pay” for Adhoc Relief Allowance-2024 will also include the amount of the personal pay granted on account of annual increments(s) beyond the maximum of the existing pay scale.
4. The above Ad-hoc Relief Allowance-2024 shall be accommodated from within the budgetary allocation for the Financial Year 2024-2025 by the respective departments. No supplementary grant would be given on this account.

What is New / Amendment?

In the previous Notification Adhoc Relief Allowance 2024 Punjab @ 20% and 25% of dated 12 July 2024, there was no mention of Personal Pay (PP). Now it is clear in this Notification that the employees having salary with Personal Pay (PP) will also get this allowance. It is further clear from this amended Notification that the ARA-2024 is on the running / current basic pay.
