artment of the Controller General of Accounts (CGA) Islamabad has issued the Notification on 20-08-2024 in connection with Payment Overtime Allowance Maximum 25% of Pay. The details are as follows:
Clarification Payment Overtime Allowance Maximum 25% of Pay
Department of the Controller General of Accounts (CGA), Islamabad O/o the Divisional Accounts Officer, Pakistan Railways, Rawalpindi.

Subject: Payment of Overtime Allowance
In the light of the Pakistan Railways, Headquarters Officer, Lahore letter no. 903-E/7/4-XII (APO/Policy & O.D) dated 15-08-2024 (Copy enclosed).. The letter clearly shows/states that the overtime allowance paid to an employee should not exceed 25% of his pay.
In view of the above, kindly restrict the overtime allowance of employees up to 25% of the pay charged in the respective month with immediate effect. Furthermore, the office advises calculating the excess overtime drawn by the employees and providing the recovery schedule in order to implement the same in true letter and spirit.
The concerned should treat the matter as a “Top Priority”.

As per the Notification, no employee can get a maximum 25% of the salary he receives. If the employees have already received the amount more than 25% of basic pay, then they will have to refund the extra amount.
