Government of the Punjab Service and General Administration Department (Welfare Department) issued a Notification on 06-09-2024 in connection with Public Holiday in Punjab on 17-09-2024 on the occasion of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal Eid Milad un Nabi. The details are as follows:

No.SOW-I(S&GAD)1-3/2008(P-IV): In pursuance of Cabinet Division’s circular No.10-1/2024-Min-II dated 06.09.2024 and in continuation of this office’s notification of even No. dated 26.12.2023 listing public and optional holidays for the year 2024, it is notified for general information that 17th September 2024 (Tuesday) shall be observed as a public holiday in the Province of Punjab on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, 1446 AH).
The above notification may be published in all major English and Urdu dailies both at national and regional levels and also be given wide publicity through electronic media.
Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid Milad un Nabi with religious zeal and zest. All educational Institutions and other Government departments and offices remain closed on 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal. Only specific departments/offices remain open on this day. These departments are especially related to security-related and health related departments / offices.
