Government of Pakistan, Finance Division issued a Notification on 10-09-2024 in connection with Special Family Pension 2024. The eligible family will get a pension for 25 years after the death or ineligibility of the spouse/1st recipient. The details are as follows:

 

Special Family Pension 2024 for 25 Years

 

The undersigned directs to refer to the subject noted above. The U/S states that, on the recommendations of the Pay and Pension Commission-2020, they have decided that thenceforth, Special Family Pension, they will regulate the special pension as under.

 

Conditions for Special Pension

 

1. Special / Family Pension, after the death or ineligibility of the spouse / first recipient, shall be admissible to remaining entitled family members for 25 years after the death or ineligibility of the spouse / first recipient.
2. In the case of disabled / Special Children of a pensioner, the Special Family Pension shall remain admissible for the life of such children.
3. The rate of such pension for eligible recipients is enhanced to 20% of the last drawn pension admissible to the first recipient for all ranks of Armed Forces / Civil Armed Forces without min/max limits and transferable to all reliable heirs as per order presided in rule 12 of Pension Regulations Vol-1 (Armed Forces), 2010.

 

Existing instruction on the subject shall stand amended to the extent of above with immediate effect.

 

 

 

Finance Division on 10 September 2024 made many changes in pension rules. These new rules aim to provide financial benefits for the Government. These new rules of pension are not in favor of the pensioners, especially the family pensioners. The target of the Government is to reduce/minimize the burden of pension payments. Recently Government of Pakistan pays pension payments more than the regular pay and allowances.
