Government of the Punjab School Education Department issued a Notification on 03-11-2024 in connection with the Closing of Govt and Private Schools for One week upto Class 5^th in Lahore. As per the Notification, these schools / Primary sections will remain closed from 4th Nov 2024 to 9th Nov 2024. The details are as follows:

Closing of Govt and Private Schools for One week upto Class 5th in Lahore

No.SO(A-I)-31/2008(P-I) in the wake of the deterioration of the Air Quality Index (AQI) and in light of an order dated 03-11-2024 that the Director General Environmental Protection Agency Punjab issued. While exercising powers conferred under section 6(1)(t) of the Punjab Environmental Protection Act, 1997, the Department notifies that all the classes upto grade 5^th in all schools (Public & Private) located in the territorial judication of district Lahore shall remain closed for one (1) week w.e.f 04-11-2024 (Monday) till 09-11-2024 (Saturday).

Chief Executive Officer (DEA) Lahore should ensure the order compliance.

A copy is forwarded for information and necessary action to the following offices:

1. The Director of Public Instructions (SE/EE), Punjab,
2. The Deputy Commissioner, Lahore.
3. The Director (monitoring) requests that the same be uploaded on the official website of the School Education Department for general information.
4. The CEO (DEA) of Lahore.
5. PSO of Ministry of School Education Department.
6. PS to secretary, Special Education Department.
7. PS to Secretary, Literary & Non-Formal Basic Education Department.
8. PS to Secretary, School Education Department.
9. PS to Special Secretary, Scholl Education Department.
10. PS to Additional Secretary (General), School Education Department.
11. PA to Deputy Secretary (ACAD), School Education Department.

Note: This Notification is only for the Lahore district and not for other districts of Punjab.
