The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Establishment Department issued a Notification on 15-11-2024 in connection with a 5% Quota for Transgender people in BPS-01 to BPS-15 Jobs in KPK. The details are as follows:

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 25 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Civil Servants Act, 2973 (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Act No . XVIII of 1973), the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Civil Servants (Appointment, Promotion & Transfer) Rules 1989, the following further amendments shall be made namely:
In rule 10, in Sub-rule (5),-
- In clause *B), in the provision, the word “and: appearing at the end, shall be deleted; and
- In clause ©, in the Explanation, full stop, appearing at the end, shall be repleaded by a semicolon and the word “and,” and thereafter, the following new clause shall be added, namely:
“D) 0.5% of all posts, in each bai pay scale 15 and below, to be filled in by initial requirement, shall be reserved for Transgender Persons duly registered with the Zakat, Ushr, Social Welfare, Special Educational, and Women Empowerment Department.
Explanation: Appointment under clause (d) shall be subject to possessing prescribed qualifications and experience, if any, by the candidates and their suitability for the post in view of the sociocultural environment in the province.
