I am sharing the Comparison Pension and Commute Punjab Before/After 02 Dec 2024 due to the Notification of Amendment Pension Rules 2024 for the Punjab employees/Pensioners. I have illustrated the situation of a decrease in pension/commute with examples and calculations for various Basic Pay Scale employees. The details are as follows:

There is a significant decrease in pensions after the implementation of new pension reforms/rules. There is not so much difference in monthly pension but the commute/graduate will decrease at a large scale after the new pension rules. The reason for this is that the Punjab Government Finance Department increased the ratio of pension from 65% of gross pension to 75% of gross pension. In the same way, the FD Punjab decreased the commute ratio from 35% to 25%. There is another reason for the decrease in pension and commute which is the average basic pay of the last three years. Previously, the last basic pay at the time of retirement was taken to calculate pension/commute. Some examples/calculations are as below for your information:
