This news is based on the statement of the Federal Finance Minister Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb as on 11 April 2025. The Federal Government has already issued the tentative date of announcement of Budget 2025-26 in Pakistan. The details are as follows:
Updates of Salary Increase in Budget 2025-26 Pakistan for Government Servants
As per the news, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that the government will increase the pay of the Govt employees. The work is underway to further reduce electricity bills by July or before. Regarding providing relief to the public, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that a program has been prepared to provide relief to the salaried class in the next budget, the details of which cannot be disclosed to the media yet.
Proposals for Budget Preparation
Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that the details of relief for the salaried class will be taken to the IMF. A total of 98 percent of proposals have been received from the government and private sectors for budget preparation. The government and the private sector are working together on the budget proposals. Muhammad Aurangzeb said that the reasons for the proposals that could not be implemented will be told to the relevant department. Before presenting the budget in the assembly, the relevant parties will be told which proposals can be implemented.
No Change in Budget After 1st July
The Finance Minister has said that the budget will be implemented in its final form on July 1. There will be no changes in the budget after July 1. The aim is to give more time for the implementation of the budget.
IMF/TAX
The Finance Minister said that he is hopeful that the IMF Executive Board will approve the staff-level agreement in May. He said that all the targets given by the IMF have been met. He admits that there was some delay in meeting some targets but they have been met. The Finance Minister said that tax collection from traders has improved, the Trader-Friendly Scheme should not be linked to tax collection from traders, and the Tax Policy Department will start working under the Ministry of Finance this calendar year. Muhammad Aurangzeb said that they are preparing a form for taxpayers that each individual can fill out on their own.
Previous Statement
Before this, there was also a statement from the Finance Minister that there is no proposal for the increase in salaries of the Govt employees in Budget 2025-26. But now as per the latest statement, the Government will increase the salaries of Govt employees. But how much? This he kept as a secret and will disclose at a later stage.
